Pinoy favorite meriendas

Filipino culture when it comes to food,It is taking after lunch between dinner. Filipino are very eager to eat meriendas they prepare usually afternoon, they will stop or rest there job for a minutes, just to eat any filipino food.

Recipe Ingredients
1 pc white gabi (substitute cassava if available), cubed 1/2 cup sugar 2 pcs yellow camote (sweet potatoes), cubed 1/2 tsp salt 1 pc ubi (no substitute), cubed 4 tbsps landang or tapioca 4 pcs ripe cardaba (or semi-ripe plantain), sliced 2 cups coconut milk 1 cup coconut milk, diluted with water

Binignit Recipe Procedures

  • Cook gabi, camote, ubi, and cardabang saging (or plantain bananas) in diluted coconut milk.
  • Add sugar, salt, and landang (or tapioca).
  • Simmer until all ingredients are tender and mixture is thick.
  • Add 2 cups coconut milk. Cook in medium heat.
  • Do not boil or liquid will curdle. Adjust amount of coconut milk to your available ingredients.
  • Serve hot.

BANANACUE

Ingredients:

about 15 pieces of banana saba type

bamboo bbq sticks

half a kilo of brown sugar

half a liter of cooking oil

Procedure:

:Peel your bananas.

:

Heat your deep frying pan with half a liter of oil. Once the oil becomes very very hot, put gently all your bananas (it depends on the size of your frying pan).

add your brown sugar

:Continue mixing gently the caramel and the bananas.

:until it brown and cook.

:

Skew them on your bamboo sticks, approximately 3 bananas per stick.
